Reading Journal10- To Any Would-Be Terrorists

Summary: After 9/11, Arabs have been named as terrorists, due to the tragedy in the World Trade Center. However, the author and her parents is trying so hard to change the perception of Americans towards the Arabs. The reality is, Arabs have so many good people but they all all accused to be terrorist. The author is trying to send a message to the terrorist that they have ruined the name of the Arabs and ask them not to do it anymore. We should not suppose to watch the terrrible movies and Tv shows that made by american anymore because it is wrong. Not all Arabs are bad, not all Muslims are evil. Islam is a welcoming religion. Therefore, the author urged people stop using that word and she hopes that one day, "terrorists" will be dissapeared from the Arabs.

Opinion: In my opinion, 9/11 is a tragedy and Arabs-Americans are having a tough life in the United States. They are all being seen as a terrorists even though they are good people. It is so close that, the Muslim East and the West will be peaceful again but it just started like the history of the ward of jerusalem after 9/11. I felt so sorry to the Arabs Americans because they are named as terroists. It is not a pleasant word, therfore, I hope that we will work together to create a better place in this earth. Racist will not happen in the future, if we start living peace together.

Reading Journal9-It's the Women, stupid(page 340)

Summary: After 9/11, "The Clash of Civilizations" by professor Samuel Huntington is popular. His prediction in 1996 about war will be happen among the Western and the Eastern after the end of the cold war between Soviet Union and America. However, the author claims that Huntington has the wrong perception about the Muslims east and the West. Huntington claims that it is about the clash among the political values and democracy. According to study, Muslim east and West agree with democracy and claims that democracy would be "very good" for their country. In the gender equality, the Muslim West and the East have their different thoughts. Muslim is more traditional and concervatives but the East are the most liberal. Therefore, democratic ideals is exist among the Muslim East and the West, not for the gender equality.

Opinion: In my opinion, it is true that Muslim country will think that democracy would be the best for their country, but the people are lack of democracy. However, if you look at the gender equality, Muslim east will be traditional but the east is very liberal. Look at the United States, there are so many female politician but the Muslim East thinsks that Male will handle a better job as a politician. Therefore, I think the clash of civilization between the Muslim East and the West has no relevance to the prediction of Samuel Hungtington. The difference is gender, Stupid. This is about the confusing title of this article.

Reading Journals8- Reading the History of the World(page 154)

Summary: The author has been reading books since when she was young because her families had alot of book collections. among the Latins America, people who can read and afford to buy books are very few. It is not easy to purchase a reading material during theearlier generations of the Latinos. The author has a strong bonding with her mother and her daughther by just writing journals to each other. Life without reading i just like being imprisoned to the author. In other incident, the author's uncle, President of Chile, Salvador Allende implement his policy of getting his people to read by paying just a little of money to get a reading material which is"Quimantu". However, it doensn;t last for very long, his uncle was being assasinated by the military. In the present, 50 percent of the Latinos still cannot read or write.

Opinion: In my opinion, Reading is good way to gain knowledge. With a good knowledge, we will be a better person and we are able to boost up the economy fo the country. However, sometimes I can;t really take readings such as novel. I would rather watch movies to relax. there are too many words and it makes my brain hurts. Reading news or scientific materials is very improtant because we need to know what is going on in this world. Science will be the one that will determined our future of the country instead of novel. I have no idea, how the author can;t live without reading novel. Being Imprisoned without reading? I can live without readig novel since I am a scientific person with a mathematical mentality.

Reading journals 7-In Africa, AIDS Has a Woman's Face(page166)

Summary: In Africa, Famine and Aids have been the major issue for decades. Women are the ones who ar the backbone of each family. According to study, if there is a woman in the house in Africa, they live healthier and have a better life style. However, the family becomes vulnerable after the woman has gone. Chldren of the family will be exposed to HIV more often and starvation will continues in the family. Women survival rate are higher compare to the men in Africa, they are tougher in the drought and they manage to find food for their children. In the future, organizations are trying to help the Africans to prevent HIV and AIDS and famine. It has shown a decline rate in few Africa countries such as Zambia, South Africa, Uganda that the infection of HIV is decreasing. there are still a hope.

Opinion: In my opinion, Africa is a disaster place that everyone is vulnerable to HIV and famine. The Country seems like being cursed, because reports shows that 58 percent of the woman in Africa are having HIV. Can you believe this? We can't blame the Africans too, because they have a low education level and thats explains why they are not care about HIV. To prevent HIV, United Nation has to organize a sex education on Africa so that the Africans are more aware of it. Educate them instead of having sex that are the main cause of HIV and having so many babies with HIV, they can try to improve their lifestyle. A good educated person might brings prosperity to the country and we hope Africa will be just like us in the future.

Reading Journal 6- If You Can't Master English, Try Globish(pg130)

This post is just for my engish assignment.

Summary: In this world, is hard for someone to master English if they have their own native language. Therefore, in the airport, you can hear people communicating in Globish instead of English. Globish is another language that is similar to English just that the words are more simple. For example: Niece can be expressed in children of my brother. English contains 615,000 words but Globish just have 1500 words overall. therefore to learn a faster way of communicating with another person with a different native language, try out globish. You just need approximately 182hours to learn globish and you can communicate well.

Opinion: In my opinion, I think is good to learn globish instead of English if you can;t master English in a short period. I think I learn Globish first instead of English and it will help you to enhance your english learning day by day.Is kinda hard to learn English in the beginning but Globish will definitely help you to communicate in an easier way. When I was young, I always use to describe one of my cousin as My Dad's Sister's son. When you listen to it, you will think that my English is horrible but at least you know what I am trying to reach you. Therefore, Globish is no harm to English, The french don't even understand the benifits of learning Globish. I encourage people to learn Globish first instead of English in the first place.

I wish I can go back to the PAST

Another 2 and a half weeks, we are having finals in ISU. I guess everyone is still having their thanksgiving mood. Who the hell have mood to study and do their assignment after Black Friday?

Back to the past? Like how? I wish I can go back to the past to correct my mistakes that I have done. For example, going back to the beginning of this year and try not to eat so much because I gain almost 20kg in The United States. It is a disaster.Anyhow, I have to change and try to keep fit, even though people think I am Impossible. But, who cares? Impossible means " I'M Possible. Lets see, whether I can keep fit like my past?

I wish I can go back to Malaysia having fun with my friends like old days. Old friends like Aravinth, Joo Seoung , Teck Eng , Sze ming and my basketball buddy Jian Min. Having so much fun like the old days and definitely the one who cares me the most, my grandmother. Living with no worries about my studies and financial problems and have someone to talk all the time, is so nice Just imagine that, when you are back to your hometown. Miss the old days when we play basketball 3 on 3 back in our basketball court Min. Hope you are still playing basketball every week. About Elaine, I hope I can go back to the past and fix it but I know it is too late. Hope you are enjoying in Purdue. Wish you are happy all the time.

It is so random and sudden having homesick after thanksgiving break. I don't wanna think about it but if u go to Peninsula in Minneapolis and you eat one mouth of char kuey teow and Hokkien Char Mee; Oh God is just like you are back in Malaysia and having a family dinner together. Gunatanamo Bay is located in Iowa State University, Coover Hall, a place that forces us to study all the time and train us to be nerdys. We just need food to survive for our brain to think beyond our imagination to figure out how to do all this maniac questions.

After madness of birthday parties in the weekends, finally I have the chance to write a post. Starting from today, I am not going to mention the word "bitch" anymore. I am just joking anyway in the previous post, but not going to describe people as bitch in the future, is kinda rude. So I sincerely apologize who call anyone bitch in my past.

Back to topic.ALL IN or FOLD? When you listen to this phrase, you will definetely think that this should be a poker, but I said is not. Why? Is kinda random again when I think about this title. I have this inspiration after yesterday night. Poker should have raise, reraise, raise in the dark, call, all in and fold. This is consider a real poker, however, yesterday, we are playing an aggressive kind of game which is ALL IN or FOLD. Pre-flop is already ALL IN which is 4000 chips; blind is just 50 but everyone got crazy because I started first. Yesterday is my first time goes crazy playing almost 5 hands ALL IN, forcing people to ALL IN their chips. I didn't try before, so I decided to give it a try just like Gus Handsen. My biggest won that night around 30 thousand chips but later I lost 16k to my poker Idiol, Chris and he is the chip leader of the night.

I have to admit that I always lose to Chris when come to big hand just like Wooi Hao. "Nooooooooooooo", Wooi Hao favourite quote. Sometimes have to learn from my poker idiol to be more patient instead of raising aggresively. Is hard to predict Chris's hand. He likes to blave a lot but in the same time, he might have a monster hand. So GAY!!! I can only dexcribe a word about yesterday night which is MADNESS. Everyone is trying to crush down my empire and it ends up, we are doomed by the unpredictable player, Chris. Top 3 chips leader in the beginning are me, William Baron and Kudut-X. It ends just like the story of the three kingdom. Liu Bei, Cao Cao and Sun Jun were all trashed by the Cunning one( indicating Chris, Lolz).

Is kinda random when I start thinking of this topic just 10 mins ago. Well, honestly I just chat with my old friend and she ask me about this question. I didn't think of that anyway since I dont have a girlfriend all the time. Back to topic, should guys really be loyal to their girlfriend or just taking advantage of them since we are still fresh( I mean fresh Cells, not fresh meat).

In this era, not just guys cheat on their girlfriends, girls cheat on them too. Somehow, we are the victim nowadays. In US, girls have many sex partners. Is Weird part of Unique or just get rid of Weird to be Unique?

Is a good day to write blog again, coz I just recover from sickness, having fever and allergies. Is kinda lame having allergies after drinking alchohol on Friday night.

Many people start to say I am weird because they said I am kinda GAY, coz I always find Zi Ting and almost every blog will mention about him. Well, let me clarify this issue, he is one of my best friend in my life just as same as MIKE HO. I treat them as my elder brother with full respect. Erm... So am I consider wierd right now?

What is the definition of weird? Weird means QI GUAI. I think people who likes to say someone is weird is pretty weird coz they just disagree how people behave different from them. For example, Few weeks ago, one random female stranger introducing herself by telling me her name is NONAME and came from North Pole. I response to her, are you serious? She said she just don;t wanna tell the truth. Then why the fuck she come and ask me some weird questions? She ask me not to think that she is weird and said if I think she is weird means I am weird. Why So Serious!!! by Joker Eric

Why SO Serious? Why So serious ARH? Why do we have to take so many things so serious? Is good to be serious on your assignment, lab report, exam and etc. But why so serious in life? Sometimes I have no idea why people are so serious of life just like they follow everything with their principles. For example: I can't party because my mum told me not to do it. It seems like a bad boy; I can;t be in a relationship because it will affect your studies; I can't drink alchohol because my mum will scold me; I can't have sex with some white chicks because I might end up having STD's or HIV; I can't talk cock because it shows that I am not civialised?

Why so serious about all this issues? First, is good to party and is good to drink alchohol, just not over do it. For example, my previous housemate drink 4 times a week and get laid every night in the party. End up, sometimes he might sleep outside the road and hugging a botol of Patron. He always said:" Eric, why are you being such a serious dick!" You might think, my housemate is such an asshole or a fag playing around with girls and getting FUCKED UP almost everynight. Well, honestly let me tell you this, he is an Honor Student and he holds a CGPA of 3.94 and he is so nice to me. Seriously, I hope he can be my housemate again, listening to many stories of his WILD LIFE.

The Introduction of The Day Before Angels and Niggas get Drunk!

Since I wrote this blog last week, I get good response by my friends. They want me to write more blogs. Some of them said, " I need more! KengGee". What the hell, I am not porn star or celebrity like " WU BAI"( A celebrity look like one of my senior, TAI when he kept long hair during summer. Looks like vampire, but he just likes to eat pork skin; Looks like porn star, but he is too short, so in conclusion, He looks like a taiwanese Rock Star, "WU BAI".)

Some of them said, I can be comedian, be the next " KENGGEE SIA", this is impossible( which means I' M Possible) because all the blogs I have written are all true from my heart(LOLZ). You will determined the next few blogs whether is it true or I am just talking cock like ZI Ting. Hehe

Ok, Lets get back to topic. Today, I just wanna write about the pre-day of getting drunk, because tomorrow we are having a big party. Celebrating 2 NIGGAs Birthday who are Zi Ting, Ng and TAI( WU BAI). Besides, we are helping to celebrate an Angel's birthday too, who is Linh Pham.

Seems pretty excited of the party tomorrow. I think this year party will be more " LANJIAO". Wanna know why? Coz This 2 niggas are more niggas( How now NIGGAS?), the VietCong Bitch challenge me, said she will not get drunk tomorrow(Seems she is well prepared).

The 5 seniors will definetely be there. I call them the 5 MAFIAS. Look at them, all wearing black shirt, Mafias right? My FIRE has turned ON!

After my english assignment for my English 250, I love to write blogs. This is definetely not included in my assignment. LOLz. The previous posts are all true too, just that I can't write any "F" words in it.( If i write, Mr.Perez,my lecturer will deduct my marks for sure. HAHA).

After the Malaysian Cultural Night, everyone put alot of effort into it especially the performances such as lion dance, fan dance and bhangra dance. Is a big success for the cultural night, but I feel like I didn;t contribute much in it. Well, I have many things to do in my academic studies especially Electrical Engineering. However, sometimes think of it, If I can sacrifice my leisure time for an hour for everyday, why not helping them in perfomances? Hmm, I am damn NOOB. Now just realise about it. HAIHZZ. Hopefully, I will keep attending in Lion Dance Group and learn more about it.

My friends, what will you imagine that I am going to do when my fire has turned on?Please Don;t imagine that I am going after some chicks, staring some boobs. Damn Fuck wei. ( I know Zi Ting or Xze Ming will imagine that random shit). I am not that pervert like you guys. Go to strip club and buy 2 lap dances somemore. Crazy. Well, I am going to study hard and try to improve myself in many ways. just like the same old Eric in Taylors: Full of confidence, initiative and good creativity in projects. I have to get back my confidence first and then be positive.

SO, I am writing this blog is to remind myself and reach my friends that I am back to normal. No more negative thoughts, No more Random Shit and definetely keep fit. I have to have this commitment till my graduation, be a man, but not gay or pussy. Be mature, but not some "sohai" or clown. So, wish me luck, I will try to improve myself before I reach my young adult stage.

OK chiaoz guys, by the way, next week is Zi Ting birthday, anyone has any plans in making him drunk? Hopefully will not cause DISPUTEZZ.

Malaysian Cultural Night in ISU

This coming Sunday, October 26th, ISU Malaysian society will organize Malaysian Cultural Night in the Great Hall. Hopefully it will be a great success during that day. Any of my friends still haven't bought their ticket, please get it from Student East Office.

Well, I am part of helping this event too as a setup crew and safety. One of the best performances will be the lion dance. Our Lion Dance crew has trained almost 1 and a half months for this event. It will be a very wonderful performance and I am looking forward during that day.

People who I miss the most

After staying for almost 11 months, I miss my family and my friends alot. The first person that I always think of it is definetely my grandma.

It has been a year and a half since my grandma has passed away. When I think of it, tears will flow from my eyes almost everytime. I just lied to my friends that my eyes have dust in it to cover my emotional feelings. LOLZ. She has been my part of my life for 18 years and I seems like I lost the most important thing in my life. Still remember I keep calling her " AH-MA"( Hokkien language), and now I am so envy about people who talk about their grandmother; how nice their grandmother is. I wish she will be back, but I know is impossible. Just hope that, she will live in my heart and dreams everyday. Hope I can meet her in the next life and hope that I can repay her everything she had done for me in this life. I need to move forward right now and keep going. One day, we will meet each other again.

Should I be an Asshole or continue being a nice guy?

Having alot of opinion from most of my closest friends, and everyone have the same common thought about me which is, I am too nice to people (However, when playing dota, I am not that nice,still trying to get rid of this bad habbit. No hard feelings Aravinth).

I have been living 10 months in Ames,Iowa and I have start to change to be a super nice guy.One of the reasons is when I first came to US, I have a good impression of the States. Most of them are so polite. " Thank you and Welcome" is the most common word here. Is hard to hear it in Malaysia, since we are kinda barbarian.HAHA. Well....., I am not bragging myself, I was told by my friends in ISU. Well, I think Aravinth and Sze Ming will disagree for sure, since I always pawn them in Dota. LOLZ. Being a nice guy is good, but my friend told me not to be too nice. Sometimes have to be an asshole, this is how you be a man. Is that true?

My friends said people will take advantage of you or I will get bullied. However in one of my basic principle is, helping and cheering up people is a merit. During summer, I help out my senior, Zi Ting , Ng when he is having an operation in Mary Greeley Medical Center. Now, I am so close to him, I knew so many friends because of him. If not, I am still the same old Eric like the beginning of the semester in ISU without any close friends; feeling depressed , sad and misses home all the time. I really want to thank this senior so much because he has changes my life in ISU. Once again, Thanks ZI.

There is many bad guys in the world, so is better not to be too nice and easily trust on people. This is true so I am going to change it a little by being an asshole sometimes. Any suggestions of being an asshole? HAHA. Hope this post will always remind me to be an asshole in the future.

Some Random Madness

Hey guys, still remember our madness activities we have done back in Malaysia? Playing Dota for 24 hours straight till next morning. The funniest part is one of our friends got wacked by his mum Guess who? So embarassing, dude.
(Hint: He play Dota with me almost all the time)

This is one of the madness we have done during college; you can't say is not ethical, so I assume that we are brave and cool enough to have this madness activity. Friends who got involved: Aravinth, Bryan Eric , Caleb and me. We did something that college will charge us of academic dishonesty. (Please don't try to attempt anything like this, if you are below 18. LOLZ) I am the person in charge to take a video of their madness act.

When I come to US, my madness activities has been upgraded. This is worst than in Malaysia. I am just the camera guy, and i am innocent. My friend stole a bike. I can't reveal his name, if not he will be sentenced to prison. HAHA.

The Golden Night

My friends, what will you think I am doing in my golden night? I am sure you guys will say I am looking for girls. Well, I am not, because I behave unlike my friends in Purdue,Arizona and San Francissco HAHA. I hope this blog can entertaint my closest friends during the leisure.

I am really lucky to get to study in the United States, studying in one of the top 50 universities in Electrical Engineering major. My parents always assume that my life in the universities is just studying, doing research and continue studying. Well, is true that my objective is to achieve a good grades and get a good job in the future. My routine of life in the weekdays is almost the same as my pet. My dog always guard in front of my house and then wating to eat in the night. I am not a dog, but my routine is almost the same for every weekdays. Everyday have to study or work on assignments till midnight. If I am not studying that day, my academics will be a disaster, because I have no idea what is the professor is trying to reach us in that class. Textbook and TA are my best friends, but not the professors. When Friday arrives, my night life has begun. It is just a normal day in Malaysia, but it is not the same in US. I named Friday night as the Golden Night. Why? Well, one of the good reason is, I don't have to touch any of my books on Friday.

Back in Malaysia, Friday night is a family reunion night for me. We will go to the mall to shop or go for a movie in the big cinema. I do really miss cinemas in Malaysia; it is big,the seats are so comfortable and the price is cheap. In Ames, the cinemas are horrible. I can describe it with two words: Sucks and expensive. This type of cinema definetly will get bankrupt in my hometown. Honestly, I went to cinemas just twice in Ames. Can you imagine how madness I am having right now; I went to cinema every week back in my country. Here,just twice in 10 months, crazy!!!!

In the United States, I learn how to drink alchol, but I don;t really drink that much due to my family genes. Please don't tell my parents after reading my blog. HAHA. Sometimes in the Friday night, my friends invite me to their party . We drink a little and we play poker. It is just a normal party, but it helps us to release a lot of stress and tension during that week. When we play poker, we gamble. 1 dollar for 4 thousand chips; Don't think is just a small amount, one my seniors won 120,000 chips that night,is 30 bucks. That is CRAZY!! Ten of us sit sat around the poker table and start playing. Suddenly, someone will shout “ ALLIN”. And most of the players will start folding. Just remain 2 to 3 players in that game. Players who are folded will keep shouting to increase the atmosphere of that game and the winner will yelled. All the frustration that has been keep it for the entire week has been released. Losers will said “ LANJIAO” and continue to drink beer. We played till 3 am and then everyone is so tired. We just sleep in that apartment together. Sounds gay and yet my friends are hugging each other to sleep. It was so funny.

Since most of our friends are stil single, we always hang out together on Friday night and weekends. In other Fridays, we will cook together and enjoy the feast just like family reunion back in hometown. We cook Malaysian Food such as Bak Kut Teh and curry. Most of the time, I am the chef since I can cook better compare to my friends. It is unbelievable that I can cook, because before leaving to US, I can fried eggs only. Seems like I am getting more independent and mature. LOLZ.
Can you believe I cook Curry? I spend 2 hours to cook this food, and is yummy!!
