Happy new Year 2009, Is a good year to refurbish and improve myself to be a better man. This year gonna be 20, a young adult, no more teenagers life. Right now, I just move in to a new aprtment, still in Frederiksen Court in 4138. Give me a visit if you guys are free. Is still pretty empty here, just books and some stuff. Is really cool to live with Mike, He taught me a lot of things and I gain some experince from there. However, sometimes, he is act like a kid(LOLZ), don;t look at him so muscular, sometimes he cry like a baby too. WAHAHA. Well, the weather in Ames is getting horrible, can you believe is -34 celcius. Crazy. I hate this weather so badly. I love staying in San Francisco; the weather is really nice and you can get chinese food so easily. APA APA Pun ADA LA, Mee goreng, Char Kuey Teow, Roasted Pork, and the best is DIM SUM. Besides having food, you can have good exercise too, because SF road is all up and down like hill. Crazy, really crazy. Anyway, just back from college to get some stuff before going to class in 20 mins. I hope all my friends have a great year and just forget the bad happenings in the past and move on.

Reading Journal10- To Any Would-Be Terrorists
Summary: After 9/11, Arabs have been named as terrorists, due to the tragedy in the World Trade Center. However, the author and her parents is trying so hard to change the perception of Americans towards the Arabs. The reality is, Arabs have so many good people but they all all accused to be terrorist. The author is trying to send a message to the terrorist that they have ruined the name of the Arabs and ask them not to do it anymore. We should not suppose to watch the terrrible movies and Tv shows that made by american anymore because it is wrong. Not all Arabs are bad, not all Muslims are evil. Islam is a welcoming religion. Therefore, the author urged people stop using that word and she hopes that one day, "terrorists" will be dissapeared from the Arabs.
Opinion: In my opinion, 9/11 is a tragedy and Arabs-Americans are having a tough life in the United States. They are all being seen as a terrorists even though they are good people. It is so close that, the Muslim East and the West will be peaceful again but it just started like the history of the ward of jerusalem after 9/11. I felt so sorry to the Arabs Americans because they are named as terroists. It is not a pleasant word, therfore, I hope that we will work together to create a better place in this earth. Racist will not happen in the future, if we start living peace together.

Summary: After 9/11, "The Clash of Civilizations" by professor Samuel Huntington is popular. His prediction in 1996 about war will be happen among the Western and the Eastern after the end of the cold war between Soviet Union and America. However, the author claims that Huntington has the wrong perception about the Muslims east and the West. Huntington claims that it is about the clash among the political values and democracy. According to study, Muslim east and West agree with democracy and claims that democracy would be "very good" for their country. In the gender equality, the Muslim West and the East have their different thoughts. Muslim is more traditional and concervatives but the East are the most liberal. Therefore, democratic ideals is exist among the Muslim East and the West, not for the gender equality.
Opinion: In my opinion, it is true that Muslim country will think that democracy would be the best for their country, but the people are lack of democracy. However, if you look at the gender equality, Muslim east will be traditional but the east is very liberal. Look at the United States, there are so many female politician but the Muslim East thinsks that Male will handle a better job as a politician. Summary: The author has been reading books since when she was young because her families had alot of book collections. among the Latins America, people who can read and afford to buy books are very few. It is not easy to purchase a reading material during theearlier generations of the Latinos. The author has a strong bonding with her mother and her daughther by just writing journals to each other. Life without reading i just like being imprisoned to the author. In other incident, the author's uncle, President of Chile, Salvador Allende implement his policy of getting his people to read by paying just a little of money to get a reading material which is"Quimantu". However, it doensn;t last for very long, his uncle was being assasinated by the military. In the present, 50 percent of the Latinos still cannot read or write.
Opinion: In my opinion, Reading is good way to gain knowledge. With a good knowledge, we will be a better person and we are able to boost up the economy fo the country. However, sometimes I can;t really take readings such as novel. I would rather watch movies to relax. there are too many words and it makes my brain hurts. Reading news or scientific materials is very improtant because we need to know what is going on in this world. Science will be the one that will determined our future of the country instead of novel. Reading journals 7-In Africa, AIDS Has a Woman's Face(page166)
Summary: In Africa, Famine and Aids have been the major issue for decades. Women are the ones who ar the backbone of each family. According to study, if there is a woman in the house in Africa, they live healthier and have a better life style. However, the family becomes vulnerable after the woman has gone. Chldren of the family will be exposed to HIV more often and starvation will continues in the family. Women survival rate are higher compare to the men in Africa, they are tougher in the drought and they manage to find food for their children. In the future, organizations are trying to help the Africans to prevent HIV and AIDS and famine. It has shown a decline rate in few Africa countries such as Zambia, South Africa, Uganda that the infection of HIV is decreasing. there are still a hope.
Opinion: In my opinion, Africa is a disaster place that everyone is vulnerable to HIV and famine. Reading Journal 6- If You Can't Master English, Try Globish(pg130)
This post is just for my engish assignment.
Summary: In this world, is hard for someone to master English if they have their own native language. Therefore, in the airport, you can hear people communicating in Globish instead of English. Globish is another language that is similar to English just that the words are more simple. For example: Niece can be expressed in children of my brother. English contains 615,000 words but Globish just have 1500 words overall. therefore to learn a faster way of communicating with another person with a different native language, try out globish. You just need approximately 182hours to learn globish and you can communicate well.
Opinion: In my opinion, I think is good to learn globish instead of English if you can;t master English in a short period. I think I learn Globish first instead of English and it will help you to enhance your english learning day by day.Is kinda hard to learn English in the beginning but Globish will definitely help you to communicate in an easier way. I wish I can go back to the PAST
Another 2 and a half weeks, we are having finals in ISU. I guess everyone is still having their thanksgiving mood. Who the hell have mood to study and do their assignment after Black Friday?
Back to the past? Like how? I wish I can go back to the past to correct my mistakes that I have done. For example, going back to the beginning of this year and try not to eat so much because I gain almost 20kg in The United States. It is a disaster.Anyhow, I have to change and try to keep fit, even though people think I am Impossible. But, who cares? Impossible means " I'M Possible. Lets see, whether I can keep fit like my past?
I wish I can go back to Malaysia having fun with my friends like old days. Old friends like Aravinth, Joo Seoung , Teck Eng , Sze ming and my basketball buddy Jian Min. Having so much fun like the old days and definitely the one who cares me the most, my grandmother. Living with no worries about my studies and financial problems and have someone to talk all the time, is so nice Just imagine that, when you are back to your hometown. Miss the old days when we play basketball 3 on 3 back in our basketball court Min. Hope you are still playing basketball every week. About Elaine, I hope I can go back to the past and fix it but I know it is too late. Hope you are enjoying in Purdue. Wish you are happy all the time.
It is so random and sudden having homesick after thanksgiving break. I don't wanna think about it but if u go to Peninsula in Minneapolis and you eat one mouth of char kuey teow and Hokkien Char Mee; Oh God is just like you are back in Malaysia and having a family dinner together. It is so nice. The " Tauke Niang" means the lady boss treat us Goreng pisang with Ice cream. Walaoooo, "Sedap nia just like Matcool, Matcoll kawanku, Mari Kita Makan Matcool. Mari Mari Selalu, Shiok nia Shiok nia ah kawanku." The lyrics that I always remember when I have Matcool Ice Cream. Damn Song!!!
